Bay of Kotor

North of Montenegro

Durmitor National Park

Prokletiye Mountains

  • Prokletiye National Park: These majestic mountains, known as the "Cursed Mountains", are a mountain range on the border of Montenegro, Albania and Kosovo. These are some of the wildest and most inaccessible mountains in the Balkans, famous for their sharp peaks, deep gorges, alpine meadows, glacial lakes and springs shrouded in legend. Prokletie is ideal for hiking, mountaineering and wildlife watching, offering unique scenery and less-travelled routes.
  • The cities of Plav and Gusinye: These small cozy towns are located at the foot of the Prokletiye and are excellent starting points for exploring the national park. In Plav, be sure to visit Plavsko Lake, a glacial lake, one of the most beautiful in Montenegro, and in Gusinje, explore the Grlja waterfall and ancient mosques.

Lovcen National Park

  • Mausoleum of Negosh: At the top of Mount Lovcen there is a mausoleum where the beloved ruler and poet of Montenegro, Peter II Petrovic-Njegos, rests. From here you can enjoy incredible views of the surrounding mountains and the Adriatic.
